InfoNET - Developing a data portal for past and present tenders awarded for infrastructure developments

An underlying theme in a significant number of high-profile corruption cases in Kenya is the use of shell companies as avenues for obtaining Government contracts through biased or unbiased tendering processes. Losses are estimated to cost the central government $6 billion per year. It is against this backdrop that InfoNET will develop a Kenya Beneficial Ownership Registry Portal.

This portal shall hold data on past/existing tenders awarded for infrastructure developments in Nairobi, Kwale and Isiolo counties, linking them to the respective awarded company’s ownership/directorship. This information will be openly accessible to infomediaries, the general public and others to hold relevant stakeholders liable.
